Where Does The Showcase Take Place?
The Best in the Midwest Summer Showcase is held at Community America Ballpark in Kansas City. The exact address for the event is: 1800 Village W Pkwy, Kansas City, KS 66111.
Are there hotels nearby?
The Best in the Midwest is held at a stadium that is located in a district called The Legends. This area is filled with shops, hotels, and entertainment! We suggest checking out the Country Inn & Suites located at 1805 N 110th St, Kansas City, KS 66111. This hotel actually has a parking lot that is shared with the stadium, so you will only have a quick walk to the stadium! Preparing For the Event!
TYPICAL SCHEDULE, DAY 1
Day 1 typically includes physical assessments, offensive and defensive showcases and objective measurements (including 60-yard dash and exit velocity), recruiting roadmap seminar, live batting practice and bullpens.
TYPICAL SCHEDULE, DAY 2
Report times will be based on team assignments and will be communicated 7-10 days before the event via email. Each player will play one 2.5 hour simulated game coaches by college coaches in the dugouts. The game times are typically 9am, 12pm, 3pm and we have each team show up one hour before their game time for warm ups. We do our best to accommodate player's travel schedules.
ARRIVAL TIME & CHECK-IN
Players should plan to arrive for check-in between 8:00 and 8:30am on the first day of the event. All players will be checked in and given an Under Armor numbered jersey to wear during the event.
INFORMATION FOR PITCHERS
Primary pitchers should be prepared to throw both days. The first day they will be throwing a 18-20 pitch bullpen in front of coaches. The second day they are throwing 20-25 pitches in a live game. If primary pitchers, for any reason, would rather throw only one inning (or not throw on a certain day), our staff will help assist in making the adjustment.
WHAT'S Each Day look like?
Day 1: A full 6 hour showcase workout & recruiting seminar. This day includes a warmup led by a college coach, full defensive drill set led by college coach, and hitting/pitching sessions where you are evaluated by all coaches.
Day 2: A live 2.5 hour simulated game. College coaches are in the dugouts to help give you insight into college baseball and evaluate your skills.
